Fun at the Cabin

For Memorial Day Weekend we went to Ryan's aunt and uncle's cabin in Birchwood, Wisconsin with much of the extended family. We had a great time eating, canoeing, fishing, boating, and making s'mores. Cole even took his first boat ride....and it wasn't even on either of his grandpas' boats! He rode a pontoon before a sailboat! I'm pretty sure Ryan's Uncle Dave will never let Grandpa Sharrow forget that!

Cole's First Day of School

Mommy had to go back to work yesterday, so Cole went off to school for the first time. He is going to our friend Nora's house. Nora is my friend from grad school. So she has a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Education. But I had a hard time saying goodbye to my baby. A few tears were shed. Of course Cole had a great day, and saying goodbye today was (slightly) better already. I hear it gets easier??? Only four weeks left of the school year and I will be home with my baby again for the summer. I think I can do it.... These are some pics Nora took and posted on her blog during the day so I could get my Cole fix from work.

Happy Mothers' Day!

We celebrated Mothers' Day with a walk with our friends Josh, Steph, and Evan and then lunch at Grandpa and Grandma Sharrow's house. After stuffing ourselves, we drove to Hinckley and had dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Iverson. What a fun day with family. Happy Mothers' Day!

Ahoy!

This is Cole's cute sailor outfit. I had to put him in it and take a picture because he has gotten so fat that the pants don't fit him! The tag says 6 months, and Cole is only 3 months...so I hadn't put them on yet. When I tried them on him today, they were WAY too tight. I didn't want the outfit to be wasted though, so we took some pics. He'll have to wear the rest of the outfit onboard with different pants. Oh well. How fast they grow!

Boaters Beware

Cole is officially 12 weeks old today, and yesterday his PFD arrived in the mail. Both of his grandpas love their boats, so we had to get Cole prepared for the water. This picture does not do justice (nor did the picture I looked at when ordering online) to the actual color of the life jacket. The orange is so bright it would probably show up if you looked at the Great Lakes on Google Earth. No way can we lose this kid. He did not seem to enjoy wearing the vest for the short time he did....but I guess we did not choose it for purposes of comfort or fashion. If you're out boating this summer, look for us. You can't miss us!

Big Boy Bibs

Doesn't Cole look grown up in these bib overalls??

Eleven Weeks

Happy Boy!

Tummy Time

Are these things mine???

Cole had a busy week this week! Wednesday we went to Congdon Park School to meet Grandma Sharrow's class and then to Nora's to meet the other kids that go to her house for preschool. Cole will be joining them in two weeks! Thursday we walked on the Lakewalk with Bren and then our friends Josh and Steph came over for dinner. Friday we walked on the Lakewalk again, this time with Josh, Steph, and Evan and then Josh and Bren came over for dinner. Saturday we drove up the shore with Ryan's extended family including his parents, grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins Jason, Dan, and Jeff, and Jason's fiancee Kathi and Dan's girlfriend April. We did some hiking, sight-seeing, and eating. On Sunday, Cole and mommy drove to Hayward to meet Grandpa and Grandma Iverson and check out the resort we will be staying at in August for a few days. WHEW!! Cole's calendar was full this week! He also seemed to find time to discover his feet this week. Cool!
